Fort Lauderdale Yacht Charter

Board in Fort Lauderdale and spend the day between the canals, the Intracoastal and the open Atlantic.

Ver en español

Fort Lauderdale is a city built around its waterways. Miles of residential canals, the New River and the Intracoastal Waterway run between its neighborhoods, and the beach is a short run out through Port Everglades. Altrove Yachts arranges crewed charters with pickup here, so your group can step aboard close to home or to a Las Olas hotel instead of driving down to Miami.

Most yachts we book are based in Miami Beach and reposition north for a Fort Lauderdale pickup. A repositioning fee applies for the run north. It is set per yacht and always included in your quote, along with the exact dock and boarding time, before you commit. Each charter comes with a licensed captain and crew, and every yacht featured on this page carries up to 13 guests, from a 60-foot Azimut to a 97-foot San Lorenzo.

A typical day starts slowly on the Intracoastal, passing the waterfront homes of the Las Olas Isles and Harbor Beach, then heads out the inlet to anchor off the beach for a swim. Fort Lauderdale is also a natural starting point for longer trips: the Bahamas lie across the Gulf Stream to the east, and multi-day term charters can begin here.

What the day can include

Intracoastal Waterway

Cruise at an easy pace past marinas, waterfront restaurants and some of the largest private homes in South Florida, with calm water most of the way.

The New River

Wind through downtown past the Riverwalk and older riverfront homes, a route the captain confirms for your yacht's size, the bridges and the tide.

Las Olas Isles

The finger islands off Las Olas Boulevard are lined with private docks and the yachts moored behind each home, best seen slowly from the flybridge.

Beach anchorages

Outside Port Everglades, the captain picks a calm spot off the beach to anchor for swimming, paddle boards and lunch, depending on wind and swell.

Pickup close to home

Board near your hotel or residence instead of driving south. The dock and timing are confirmed with the yacht before you book.

Gateway to the Bahamas

Fort Lauderdale is a common departure point for multi-day term charters to Bimini and the wider Bahamas, with customs coordinated by the crew or agent.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rent a yacht in Fort Lauderdale instead of Miami?

Yes. Most yachts we book are based in Miami Beach, and many can pick up your group in Fort Lauderdale instead, repositioning north before the charter starts. A repositioning fee applies, set per yacht and always included in your quote with the dock and boarding time, so you see the full cost before you book.

How much does a yacht charter in Fort Lauderdale cost?

Four-hour rates on the yachts featured here range from $2,800 on the 60-foot Azimut Supreme to $7,000 on the 97-foot San Lorenzo Astonish. For a Fort Lauderdale pickup, your quote shows the yacht's rate alongside the repositioning fee, APA, gratuity, tax and any catering, each itemized.

Where does the yacht pick us up in Fort Lauderdale?

That depends on the yacht and the date. We arrange a marina or dock that can take the yacht's size, ideally close to where your group is staying, and confirm it in writing with your quote. Larger yachts need deeper water and more dock space, which narrows the options.

Can we cruise the New River and the Las Olas canals?

The Intracoastal and the water around the Las Olas Isles are usually part of the day. The New River has drawbridges and tight bends, so whether your yacht goes up it depends on its size, the tide and the captain's call on the day. We flag any limits when we send options.

Can we go to the Bahamas from Fort Lauderdale?

Yes, as a multi-day term charter rather than a day trip. Bimini is the closest island across the Gulf Stream, and every crossing depends on the weather, with the captain making the final call. Each guest needs a passport, and the crew or agent coordinates customs. For a short visit, the seaplane is faster.

How many people can come aboard?

Every yacht featured on this page carries up to 13 guests. For a larger group we can book two yachts that board in the same area and cruise together, with timing coordinated so both groups meet at the same anchorage.
